2017 Sustainable Tourism Leadership Awards
Virtuoso believes that the protection of cultural and natural heritage is vital to the future of tourism and to our planet. Virtuoso is committed to encouraging and supporting sustainable tourism best practices of our Preferred Partners and Hotels, ranging from environmentally-friendly initiatives to support for the well-being of local communities.
Many of you share our mission statement for sustainable tourism, which is why Virtuoso launched the Virtuoso Sustainable Tourism Leadership Awards. Now in it's seventh year, the awards recognize both a Hotel and a Preferred Partner (on-site, tour operator, cruise line, airline, service or specialty provider) that demonstrate outstanding leadership and commitment to sustainable tourism principles and practices.
We invite you to apply to be considered for one of the 2017 Virtuoso Sustainable Tourism Leadership Awards.
Who is eligible?
All Virtuoso hotels and preferred partners are eligible for these awards.
How do I submit my company for consideration?
The deadline to submit companies for consideration was May 1, 2017.
How is the winner determined?
Costas Christ, Virtuoso's Director of Sustainability, will lead a judging panel in evaluating the entries. The panel of Virtuoso member travel advisors, who have been trained in the sustainability criteria necessary for these awards, will narrow the field to five finalists in each category. The finalists will then be voted on by all Virtuoso travel advisors.
The winners will be announced at the 2017 Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas. The winners will also be featured in communications to the Virtuoso network as well as Virtuoso's PR efforts.
